I spoke on a panel at the Values Voter Summit which looked at the history of judicial nominations as well as what might be the flashpoints in the confirmation hearings.
Shockingly and disappointingly, we saw attacks on the judges, who were on the short list, about their religious beliefs. That should be deeply insulting to all Americans. Whether you have faith or no faith, freedom of religion is a core principle of our government. Under the First Amendment, under the Constitution, there is no religious test for Supreme Court justices. And apparently Senate Democrats forgot about that. Listen.
