There is criticism from both sides: the Republicans and the base of the Democratic Party, that the Senate Democrats chose the wrong hill to faint on in regards to shutting down the US Government in favor of illegal immigrants.
They didn’t die on the hill because they didn’t keep it going longer than three days. They just did this dramatic act, which failed to accomplish their purposes and gave President Trump another way to drive home that the American people support President Trump’s immigration policy.
That is what powered him into the White House in the first place. This is a great opportunity for him to show how this issue of immigration is a way that the Democrats elevate illegal immigrants over the concerns of American citizens.
